The 2024 Nissan ARIYA continues the brand's trek toward carbon neutrality and a fully electrified lineup, two goals Nissan hopes to reach by 2050 and 2030, respectively. When the ARIYA hit the market in 2023, the electric SUV was the first EV to join Nissan’s ranks since the LEAF debuted in 2011. While the LEAF hasn’t set a retirement date yet, it’s all set to pass the torch to a faster, sleeker model with a more extended range. Visit us at Dennis Dillon Nissan in Boise, ID, to take the 2024 Nissan ARIYA for a test drive.
The Nissan ARIYA has a sleek futuristic vibe that fits perfectly with the brand's “Timeless Japanese Futurism” theme. Its V-motion grille shield, sharp LED headlights, and coupe-like silhouette undoubtedly meet the vision of the all-star design team: Alfonso Albaisa, Satoru Tai, and Giovanny Arroba. In addition, the 19-inch or available 20-inch aluminum alloy wheels give the Ariya a sporty stance. The team didn’t just think about how the striking exterior design looked; every detail is engineered to make driving the Nissan ARIYA exceptional. Acoustic laminated auto glass makes for a quiet and serene cabin. For added security and aerodynamics, the ARIYA’s futuristic, hidden door handles pop out when you approach the vehicle. Plus, dual power-folding and heated outside mirrors make defrosting early morning chill and squeezing into tight spaces a breeze.
Inside, the ARIYA has a spacious five-seater cabin that’s a minimalist haven decked in fine materials. The cabin borrows from the modern aesthetic of interior home designs and focuses on openness and flow. It features a flat floor, a wraparound dashboard, and a huge panoramic moonroof. With the added luxury of available Nappa leather surfaces and wood-grain accents, each element combines to create a calm environment. Add to that available heated and ventilated Zero Gravity seats, plenty of head and legroom, and ambient lighting, and riding in the ARIYA becomes bliss.
The ARIYA doesn’t skimp on cargo space. Behind the rear seats is 22.8 cubic feet of space, and with the seats folded, the space expands to 59.7.
One of the first things that sets the ARIYA apart from its predecessor is its range. The ARIYA is offered in four powertrain configurations, and according to the brand, most options top 300 miles in range. The base powertrain of the ARIYA is a 214-horsepower, front-wheel drive setup with a single motor and a 63-kWh battery. The same battery can be paired with two motors on both axles for a 335-horsepower, all-wheel drive experience. The punchier all-wheel drive Engage model sacrifices some range for speed, delivering 216 miles, but with the speedier zip from zero to 60, we’d say it’s worth it. From the Ventura+ trim and up, the ARIYA sports a larger 87kWh battery with the option for a 238-horsepower front-wheel drive setup or a dual motor 389-horsepower all-wheel drive.
According to the brand, the range of the ARIYA goes up to 304 miles, but real-world results may vary depending on driving habits, road conditions, and other factors. No matter the powertrain setup, the ARIYA offers a nearly silent drive with brisk throttle response and gradual but vivacious off-the-line torque. In addition, the SUV can tow up to 1,500 pounds.
The 2024 ARIYA doesn’t make you jump trim levels to get the best of the vehicle’s technology features, and the base model is stacked with everything from a bevy of USB ports to HD and satellite radio. Other notable features include.
As with the ARIYA tech features, most safety and driver assistance features are standard, with the ProPilot assist, ProPilot Park, camera mirror, head-up display, and surround-view parking being the only features you’ll have to bump up to a higher trim to access. Standard features include but aren’t limited to the following.
