What Is ProPILOT Assist?

Discover ProPILOT Assist, Nissan’s ultimate hands-on driver assist system. This cutting-edge technology integrates Nissan's Intelligent Cruise Control and Steering Assist features, along with a stop-and-hold function. Exciting new capabilities such as Speed Adjust by Route and Speed Limit Assist enhance your driving experience by automatically adjusting speed for curves and off-ramps, and allowing quick adjustments of set speed to match posted limits. How ProPILOT Assist Works

By utilizing a radar sensor in the front of the vehicle, this system effectively maintains a desired gap with the car in front of you. Additionally, the forward-facing camera, strategically positioned near the top of the windshield, ensures precise vehicle alignment during single-lane driving, even on slight curves.

You can easily set up ProPILOT Assist by following these three easy steps:

  1. Press the ProPILOT Assist Button on the steering wheel to activate it.
  2. Press “Set” when you reach the desired speed.
  3. Once the speed is set, you can set the desired distance.

Once ProPILOT Assist is activated and lane markers are identified, the ProPILOT Assist steering wheel and lane line icons on the dashboard change from grey to green. Steering Assist then intervenes with subtle steering adjustments to assist the driver in maintaining a position near the center of the lane.

The driver can disengage or override the system at any time. ProPILOT Assist will issue a series of visual and audible alerts if the system fails to detect a hand on the wheel. If the driver still doesn't place a hand on the wheel, the system will activate a braking pulse to capture the driver’s attention. Should both alert stages be disregarded, the system will gently engage the brakes, slow down within its lane, activate the hazard lights, and come to a full stop.
